Travel Tips

So I won't be blogging for about a week. Off to catch some rays and relax! But I did want to share a few tips before I go.

1. Research the city. Read blogs and reviews on travel sites. Visit local websites to get the vibe. Know a little bit about where you are going before you get there.

2. Research the travel plans. One site may have a better deal than another. There are a ton out there, so take a little time and make sure you book the right trip for you.

3. Sign up for e-mail blasts. Most restaurants now have "e-clubs" to join and usually send you some sort of coupon right off the bat. You're going to need to eat out a lot when you are out of town. At least try to save a little!

Just a few easy tips that can save you a little time and money.

Follow your favorite brands on Facebook and Twitter. They may mention special sales and post online codes that otherwise may go unseen. If you aren't already on their mailing list, be sure to join that too.

Ask retailers when they plan to have sales. Most department stores will honor a sale event even if it begins after you bought something. Show them your receipt and they might refund the difference.

Read user reviews. Especially when buying online. When you can't try on the shoes first, it makes a difference when you can see how other people fit in them.
